Current event II
Hi, guys!
I have interesting news which has been happening last two years and that news is that young people are signing off from social media. The Guardian had written the article about this and its name is: Logged off: meet the teens who refuse to use social media.
The age group who is the most affected by social media and its using is Generation Z - people who were born after 1995 and we never had to learn how to use social media, because it was so natural for us to made an account on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. However, these people are also rejecting social media platforms and they are logging off. They are discussed by the attitudes which you have to have on social media - you have to be happy and be quite dishonest version of yourself. According to the article Logged off: meet the teens who refuse to use social media where they interviewed teens, Jeremiah Johnson said: “If you’re having a bad day and scrolling through it, you’re constantly bombarded with pictures of people going to parties. Even if that’s not an accurate portrayal of their lives, that’s what you see. So I stopped using it. It became depressing. It was this competition of who’s the happiest. Participating in that is not something I’m interested in.” People are dishonest and fake their life just because of likes and comments, which are unfortunately also fake.
Are we able to say what is real and what is fake on social media platforms? Maybe we are going to epoch without social media. It is really hard to log off from social media and I look up to people who were or are able to do it.
I really liked this article and more information about this theme you can find in it.
I really like the style of your blog and it's main aim. Nowadays, social media influence our life and people, who do not use them are seen as strange. I think that in the past people were more social and lived real life. These days people are afraid to say what they think and rather write it on Facebook and when they are bored, they just scroll on Instagram.
